X-Men: First Class (Second Time!)

Tonight was Marvel night, an we read X-Men First Class #1. The X-Men went to the botanical garden, and a plant attacked them, but it didn't want to attack them. It turned out it was a creature that was under the artic ice, and some researchers were about to hurt it with a drill... and it just wanted to live off the rest of its life.

Professor X used his powers to contact the creature, and they learned what happened. It had like tentacles but made of plants, and eyes, many eyes.

The story is told by Bobby, or Iceman, writing a letter to his mother. In the end, he broke the letter, because it was full of information that someone might read and find out what really happens at Xavier's School.

My favorite part was when they fought the plant, and my favorite character was Professor X. I like him because he has mind powers, and used them to communicate with the creature.

Good night,

Aw Yeah, Disco!

This was DC night, so I chose Tiny Titans #4. First, Robin was followed by a lot of birds, robins. He asked Raven for help on how to get rid of them, but her advice didn't work. Beast Boy then went to the dentist, and when the dentist asked him to open wide, he turned into a T-Rex, and scared the doctor, who had to cancel his next appointment.

There was also a story where Wonder Girl and Bumblebee babysit the Little Tiny Titans. Wildebeest was very dirty, and while the older girls went to get stuff to wash him, cloth him and feed him, Miss Martian actually took care of that. The last story had Robin with a disco suit, calling himself Nightwing. Everybody asked him if he was going dancing, or if it was a skying outfit.

My favorite part was when Wildebeest got his make-over, and my favorite character in this issue was Wildebeest too.

Good night,

Join The Circus!

Tonight was Marvel Night, so it was the Avengers turn again, specifically, Avengers: The Origin #2. Hulk joined a circus, because he was hiding in one of their trailers, but the circus people were nice to him. The other heroes learned through Thor that this seems to be Loki's doing, because of their siblings rivalry... Loki is the god of strife, chaos and lies...

Thor and the other heroes couldn't agree, and they didn't believe that he was a real god, so he left to deal with Loki on his own. So, the other heroes were going to use Iron Man's tech to boost Ant-Man's helmet range to talk to ants all over the country, to find Hulk.

My favorite part in this comic was when Hulk was found by the circus folks, and they took him in because they all had in common that they were very much like Hulk, because they didn't fit in elsewhere.

Good night!

Mission To Mars!

Indy Night! Atomic Robo Of Mars! In this story, Robo is called by his friend, Carl Sagan, to be the top secret crew of the Viking probe, a mission to Mars. He launches, and he realizes that he only has five magazines to read for a two year trip. Why was this? Because Professor Stephen Hawkings set him a trap, and had everyone believe he could go into hibernation mode.

So, he arrived on Mars, and landed, then started to sing a song about how he could break NASA's equipment if he wanted. While he was on Mars, he wrote "STEPHEN HAWKING IS A BASTARD" on the planet's surface, which was visible from Mars. That was very funny, particularly the way my dad sang the song.

In the second story, Robo fought the ghost of Rasputin, the mad monk. Rasputin was sent to attack Tesla by Edison, who was his rival.

Secret Origins.

Aw yeah, Tiny Titans!!! It was DC night, so we read Tiny Titans #3. Beast Boy turned into a different animal every day in science class, annoying the teacher, Doctor Light. In the end, there was an elephant in the class, so the teacher told Beast Boy to turn back... but it wasn't him, it was his pet elephant, Elizabeth!

In the second story, it was Show 'n' Tell, and Rose brought her younger brother, Jericho. Jericho used his powers to take control of the teacher, Slade, and had him dismiss everybody with no homework. Then there was another story, and Kid Flash, Wonder Girl and Robin told their secret origins. Kid Flash's was my favorite, because it happened in a lab.

In the last story, Robin, Beast Boy and Aqualad played in the Batcave. They made a huge mess, because they released the rocket-pack penguins, who flew all over the place and toppled over stuff. Alfred had to ground the three boys for what they did.

My favorite character of all times... is a secret. So I'm not telling you!!!

Bye bye!

Secret Wars!

Oh yes it's Marvel night! And we read Spider-Man & The Secret Wars #1. Spidey and other heroes were taken to a planet where they had to fight, because there were villains too.

The villains destroyed the good guys' headquarters, and Molecule Man dropped a mountain on them, because he can control matter. Hulk was angry, so he held the mountain from crushing the heroes. In the end, they got out because Mr. Fantastic managed to supercharge Iron Man's armor with the help of Human Torch and Captain Marvel (the girl one).

My favorite part in this book was when Iron Man's repulsor broke them out of the mountain, and my favorite character was Captain Marvel.

Roll Like An Egypcian!

Indy night means Atomic Robo for now, so we just read Atomic Robo V1 #3. Robo and the Fighting Scientists of Tesladyne had to stop a moving pyramid in the Egypician desert. The pyramid had a solar deathray, and Robo had to stop it without blowing it up.

He got into the pyramid, Robo discovered that it was steam-powered, and also had a water-powered computer that had taken thousands of years to compute a program and wake up the machine. Shooting a focusing crystal out of alignment, Robo made the top part of the pyramid blow up.

There was also a shorter story, about Robo stopping an evil wizard from ascending to godhood on a magical spaceship. My favorite part was when Robo blew up the pyramid.

Titans Love/Hate.

Tonight we read Tiny Titans #2. The Fearsome Five... DUN DUN DUN!!! wanted the swings, and they challenged the Tiny Titans to a game of freeze tag. The Titans won, because Kid Flash was really fast and tagged the five bad guys.

Then, Beast Boy was in love with Terra, and followed her around. He wore a Superman costume to catch her eye, but she said she wouldn't date him even he was the last boy on Earth. The best part of the issue was that one, it was very funny to see Beast Boy following Terra around. My favorite character, as usual with the Titans, was Beast Boy.

If you keep on reading, you're going to discover a lot of new comics. Tomorrow is Atomic Robo day again!

Avengers Assemble... almost?

Avengers was tonight's read, specifically Avengers: The Origin #1. Loki, Thor's stepbrother, the god of evil or greed or something like that, wanted revenge on Thor. He made Hulk break some train tracks, but Hulk actually saved the train.

People think that Hulk is a monster, and that he's a bad guy, but he's really a good monster. Some friends of Hulk tried to call the Fantastic Four, but Loki sent their message in Viking runes to Thor. He also sent messages to Wasp, Ant-Man, and Iron Man. So all four heroes broke into Hulk's friends' house... and that's where the story ended for this issue.

It was very fun, good art and writing. My favorite part is when Hulk thought the train tracks were a monster, because it was very funny. Ant-Man as my favorite hero in this issue, because he's, well, an ant man.

Flying Tigers, Giant Ants, And Sad Robots.

Tonight was the turn for Atomic Robo V1 #2. In this story, Robo battles some giant ants in Reno, while he remembers one of is old friends. His friend flew with him in the Flying Tigers, a team of pilots from USA that defended China from some evil guys from Japan when the US hadn't entered WWII yet.

He was remembering his friend because he received a letter from Gracie, his friend's granddaughter. His name was Charlie, and he had died from a disease. Robo told Gracie a story about how he once challenged Charlie to a drinking contest, but it was obvious that he couldn't get drunk because he doesn't even have a mouth!

At the end of the story, Robo defeated both problems in both time periods, in Reno and in China. However, he was sad, because his friend died, because while he doesn't age physically, his old friends die. That made me feel a bit bad, the part in which Robo was sad about his friend... and a bit scared of the giant ants.

I thought the story was very good... it's the second Atomic Robo story, and my dad loves Robo's comics, just like he loves the Legion's.

Good night,

Long Live The Legion!

This was Legion Of Super-Heroes night, specifically, The Legion Of Super-Heroes In The 31st Century #1. The Legionnaires went back in time looking for Superman, they're from the future and from other planets, but they found Clark Kent when he didn't know he was going to be Superman, they thought he was just a nerd.

They needed Superman to fight the Fatal Five, a group of baddies. I thought the book was very well writen, and very well drawn, I liked it a lot. The part when they listed each Legionnaire and said which planet they were from, and what powers they had, that was my favorite. My favorite Legionnaire in this book was Brainiac 5, the living supercomputer!

My regards to all my readers,
Professor Dinosaur

Dad's Note:
Of course Mr. Smarty Pants was going to like Brainy better...

With Great Power...

Today we read Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #1, we learned about how Peter Parker was mutated by a spider bite. He fought in a wrestling match with his new powers, and he let a criminal escape. Then he got home, and found out his uncle had been killed.

He went after the guy who killed his uncle, and realized it was the same guy he'd let escape. Peter learned that if you're very powerful, you must be very responsible. The part I liked better was the wrestling match.

Bye bye!
Professor Dinosaur

Dad's Note: Wow, this was an awful Spider-Man comic... The Professor said he wanted to read Spider-Man, so I thought it'd be good to start here, instead of with the classic #1... but the art is horrible, the dialogues are dry, and Peter Parker has blue eyes instead of the brown eyes he should have. Next time he wants Spider-Man, we'll go with something else... Not Ultimate, that's too... decompressed... I think Spider-Man & The Secret Wars or something like that.

Atomic!

We just read Atomic Robo V1 #1, I though it was awesome. It's about a robot that was created by Tesla. Nikola Tesla is my dad's favorite scientist, and he invented radio, and invented electricity as we use, among many other things. He's called the Father Of The 20th Century!

So, Atomic Robo is sent to arrest Baron Von Helsingard, an evil nazi scientist. The nazis tried to capture Robo but they couldn't, because he's indestructible. Helsingard became like the most invincible human in the world, but Robo was able to defeat him. My favorite part was when the nazis realized the plane that carried Robo to their base was not one of their own supply planes.

Awww Yeah Titans!!!

Today we read Tiny Titans #1. It's about the Teen Titans when they were little, they do all kinds of kids' activities, like playing with dolls, playing hide and seek, and with toy race cars. They also go to school and to the amusement park.

The part I liked the most was when Rose and Raven were embarassed by their fathers being the school's principal and substitute teacher. My favorite character in this book was Raven, because she can control stuff with her mind... I mean her evil energy... I mean her dark energy.

To all who don't read my blog, read it, it might be very fun!
