He was remembering his friend because he received a letter from Gracie, his friend's granddaughter. His name was Charlie, and he had died from a disease. Robo told Gracie a story about how he once challenged Charlie to a drinking contest, but it was obvious that he couldn't get drunk because he doesn't even have a mouth!
At the end of the story, Robo defeated both problems in both time periods, in Reno and in China. However, he was sad, because his friend died, because while he doesn't age physically, his old friends die. That made me feel a bit bad, the part in which Robo was sad about his friend... and a bit scared of the giant ants.
I thought the story was very good... it's the second Atomic Robo story, and my dad loves Robo's comics, just like he loves the Legion's.
Good night,
